Home Staging Challenge: Week 5

Welcome to week 5!! This week is going to tackle some handy-man projects, if you haven't already. I picked up some new and handy products, plus my regular "go-to's" this week on my shopping adventures. Here are a few of my favorites.

  1. Easy clean glass treatment kit, by EnduroShield (Home Depot)- This stuff is the real deal. Great cleaning product to help keep your glass shiny for showings.

2. Magic Eraser. If you aren't using this (the generic brand works too) you are missing out on some major cleaning opportunity. These are THE BEST to go around all of your interior doors near the door knobs and around light switches.

3. Cordless Straight Finish Nailer - This thing is the bomb if you plan to do any finish work on your own. No more lugging that air compressor around.

My 3 favorite paint color choices for staging are:

  1. Benjamin Moore Manchester Tan (If you need beige instead of Gray)
In week 5, if you haven't started already, you can start painting trim and baseboards. Refreshing the paint on white trim throughout the house is an easy way to make things looks new. If your trim is dark wood, you may want to consult with a home staging professional about whether or not you want to consider painting. Dark wood trim and doors are less desirable than white in traditional homes in many areas. If you have a deck home, a contemporary home or lake home, wood trim is desirable. Seek professional advice on this one because it can certainly hinder the sale of your home. We can also go around the house this week and start spackling all holes in the walls or doors.

My favorite is Dry Dex. It goes on Pink and turns white when dry.
